Buddhist Shrines and Temples everywhere - the Golden Pavilion. It was burned to the ground by a disgruntled Monk in the 1950's (he was not pleased with the corrupt nature of how the temple was run), and subsequently rebuilt. 52 lbs of gold. Wow.

ree
Gardens everywhere are magnificent!

ree
Spectacular Bamboo Forest

Geishas! They serve food, wine, but do not drink - and they live in a communal house with a "Mother".

ree
They sing, they dance, and generally entertain.

ree
Drinking Game Sharks! They drink water, you drink Sake when you lose, which one inevitably does!

Hiroshima. August 6, 1945, The Enola Gay. This was one of the handful of buildings left standing at the strike point.

Hiroshima Peace Garden and Memorial Buildings

ree
Everyone was out and about at night for a festival

ree
They LOVE karaoke in Japan! Mad for it!

ree
They have serious shopping - corridors go on, and on, and on....food, clothing, gaming, you name it...

ree
Shops selling only chopsticks. Well, makes sense, it IS Japan.....

ree
Or selling just socks....

ree
Or just hats....

ree
And, of course, Sumo Wrestling - all the rage!

ree
This is the, "See how strong I am" pre-wrestle posture

ree
And this is the "look how great my knees are" pose

ree
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this year's grand champion...."

ree
Going native....

ree
Each Sumo Wrestler has their own flag
